Chateau Lestrille isin the village of Saint-Germain-du-Puch, just south of the Dordogne River and east of the city of Bordeaux in the northern part of the Entre-Deux-Mers.
Michel Rolland is one of the consulting oenologists at the estate, which has belonged to the Roumage family since the end of the 19th century. Winemaker and owner Estelle Roumage creates a range of very fine Bordeaux wines with real depth and character here; Lestrille-Capmartin is a Bordeaux Blanc produced from 2/3 Sauvignon Gris (a cousin of Sauvignon Blanc) and the remainder Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon; a strict selection takes place in the vineyard to select only the finest quality grapes for this cuvee and the resulting wine is fermented in new oak and then aged in barrel, which adds texture and depth.
The wine has won numerous awards and much praise, the Revue du Vin de France gave it five stars, praising its 'lovely fruit and perfect balance' and the 2010 vintage was placed on the Gold List at the Sommelier Wine Awards 2012.
