90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo from the best parcels of ripe grapes from vines planted at an elevation of 500m on Gravel rich clay soils. Fermentation in stainless steel before 8 months maturation, with 4 months spent in 30hl French oak barrels - a perfect match for aged cheeses, red meats and duck.

Buccia Nera was established in 1916 in Campriano. A first wine cellar was built in 1926 which was assigned to produce Chianti DOCG and it had cement tanks and 500 hl oak barrels.

In 1970 Amadio Mancini, the current owner, took the control of the farm bringing greater drive for variety and quality in the wines produced. In 2002 Buccia Nera turned to organic production - natural viticultural practices were already utilised, but without certification, which was granted in this year. Simultaneously, the realization of a new, bigger and more functional cellar was undertaken, a cellar equipped with the best technology, in order to reach a higher level of quality.

Anastasia and Alessia, Amadio's daughters, started to work in the winery bringing their own ideas and innovations with them. In 2010 new projects were embraced: 10 hectares of vineyard were renewed adding new grape varieties, such as Grenache, Malvasia Nera and Sauvignon Blanc, alongside the traditional Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
