Price: £12.99

The Pitchfork Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot is incredibly elegant with superbly ripe dark fruit and beautifully subtle hints of rosemary and mint, typical of Margaret River Cabernet. The tannins are ripe and the seductive smoky edge of oak is beautifully integrated.

94 Points, James Halliday: "Excellent retention of colour, even brighter than when first tasted 12 months ago. This has all the character one expects from higher priced Margaret River cabernet merlots; there is abundant cassis fruit framed by quality French oak and persistent, ripe tannins. Has undoubted development potential. Drink 2012-2025."

Michael Kerrigan, formerly the highly acclaimed winemaker at Madfish and Howard Park went solo in 2006 with the launch of Hay Shed Hill purchasing vineyards in Margaret Rivers oldest sub-region of Willyabrup Valley;

Pitchfork comprises his entry level range but these are wines which seriously punch above their weight; (Rated 94/100 by James Halliday).
